Host Carla Loomis is fascinated by how people navigate the unexpected turns of midlife—caregiving for aging parents, health decisions, long friendships, and the reinvention that often comes after 40 and 50. After spending more than 30 years teaching and supporting at-risk students, shefound herself feeling aged out of the education field and in need of a change.
Newly retired and armed with a master’s degree in psychology, Carla recruited her family and friends to help record a handful of segments exploring caregiving, health, reinvention, and the realities of midlife. Each episode includes a relaxed conversation with one of her longtime friends, reflecting the candid discussions many people have privately but rarely hear in public.
Sound Engineer and Producer Ryan Loomis produces an easygoing, polished feel — he’s a musician, music editor, and Carla’s son, who produces every episode and wrote and recorded the Podcast song.
